The Primary Sports Premium funding, received by all Primary Schools provides a unique opportunity to impact the experience and behaviours of a whole generation of children. But how to spend it?
With ring fenced funding dedicated to improving school sport it can be challenging to know how best to spend it for long term, sustainable impact.
Alongside the free support we offer to Primary Schools, we have brought together a bespoke offer for Primary Schools across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes that enables schools use a small portion of their premium funding to ensure they are achieving their desired outcomes with the rest of the funding.
The Leap Primary School membership consists of:
Self review and action planning workshop
This workshop will guide Headteachers and PE leads on their responsibilities in relation to the PE Sports Premium funding. Informing them of the annual changes and offering support to ensure they comply with the obligation of reporting impact on their website.
3 days of personalised support with an educational expert
Including lesson observations, curriculum planning, pupil leadership training, modelling lesson and policy documents.
CPD workshops including reporting and impact demonstration
Topics including Ofsted framework updates, Safe Practice in Physical Education and demonstrating impact.
Outlining the role as Governor around PE and school sport, what accountability measures are in place and poses some challenging questions on how improvements can be made. This workshop aims to help Governors make informed decisions and maximise the funding for the benefit of all pupils.
30 hours of expert coaching
Improve subject knowledge by working alongside our pool of quality assured sports coaches and provide extra curricular opportunities for your pupils in a wider range of activities.
2 delegates at the PE Conference
The annual Bucks & MK PE conference helps school staff understand the current landscape for PE and school sport. Enabling schools to share good practice and be at the forefront of new initiatives and innovations to support our pupils.
Daily mile support
The Daily Mile is not sport or PE, but rather health and wellbeing through physical activity. Leap staff can provide training which includes: course mapping, recording ideas and rewards package which motivates the pupils to adopt a physically active lifestyle.
“Leap have worked alongside our school to develop our key areas of focus in PE and physical activity. The support they have provided has had a noticeable impact on the quality of our provision and pupil’s learning.”
