The Leap partner forum is a networking and collaboration event taking place three times a year.

It brings together partners from across physical activity, sport, health, leisure, community development and other sectors and focuses on topics where physical activity and sport can add value.

Each forum is themed around a challenge or topic that affects Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes residents and where physical activity and sport can have a direct impact. We bringing together expert speakers and examples of practices from both in and outside of the county its the ideal place to learn, share and collaborate.

The theme for our June forum is Stories of Change: bringing to life how system change is happening now, to inspire and create the conditions for more!

Don’t just take our word for it! Here’s what attendees at our forum on February said:

“Very inclusive and a buzz about all things physical activity”

“The table topics were valuable both personally and in terms of work”

“Topics were relevant and made really good connections during the event”

Agenda

11.00 Welcome and Introductions.

11.10 Connecting and forging new partnerships. Networking and ice breaker involving movement.

11.15 What is System Change, System Leadership and Thinking?

An overview of system change and thinking: what is it and what isn’t it and who in the room are the system leaders.

How does system thinking and change link and support Uniting the Movement and how does it help us tackle health inequalities?

11.30 System Change Pilot in Luton

Be Active created one of three national System Change pilots funded by Sport England. Clare and Hunter will share what they tested in Luton to embed movement and physical activities to within the Children’s Services and now Adult Social Care departments.

We will make time for reflection, table discussion and questions following the presentations.

11.50 Embedding Movement and Activity into Cancer Services

We will bring to life the work undertaken over the previous 3 years to create system change in the way patients living with a cancer diagnosis are supported in Buckinghamshire.

The collaboration was facilitated by Leap, but employed a distributed leadership model and shared responsibility across key stakeholders who came together around a common purpose of improving the lives of residents with a cancer diagnosis.

We will make time for reflection, table discussion and questions following the presentations.

12.10 Movement Break

12.20 Embedding Movement and Activity into Violence Reduction

We will bring to life the work undertaken over the previous 2 years to create system change in the way young people are supported and educated: to steer them away from violence and crime in Milton Keynes with Street Games

We will make time for reflection, table discussion and questions following the presentations.
