Shanly Foundation
Grants are available for local groups to support local good causes within Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, North London, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
The Shanly Group of companies was established in 1969 by Michael Shanly, the chairman and owner. The success of these companies and the vision of the Chairman to invest in the local communities led to many years of philanthropic donations. This support was formalised in 1997 through the creation of the Michael Shanly Charitable Trust which, in 2012, became the Shanly Foundation.
The Shanly Foundation provides funding in support of its aim to help members of society across a broad spectrum of worthy causes including the young, the elderly, those with a physical handicap, mental illness, injury or life limiting illness.
The Foundation mainly supports local community groups, charities, schools and organisations operating in the Home Counties and Thames Valley but does, from time to time, support both national and international causes such as The Scout Association, the 2014 Ebola crisis and the 2015 Syria survival kits.
