The event gives students with SEND  (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) opportunities they may not usually receive. Through improved confidence, young people develop skills that aid their life chances and future employment.

We welcomed pupils from the following schools in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes:

Alfriston School, Beaconsfield

Shenley Brook End School, Milton Keynes

Sir Herbert Leon Academy, Milton Keynes

Slated Row School, Milton Keynes

The Mandeville School, Aylesbury

Girl in Lead The Way Tshirt with Ruel D'Costa leading a group of young people The day began with a welcome from Tom Davis,Team GB Judo athlete, and then everyone was up and moving for some fun activities with Benson Miyoba.

In smaller groups, students took part in interactive sessions with Ruel DaCosta, Portia Simond, Harriet Olliffe and Tom Davis and education programme Base.

On the following day, an Opportunities Fair enabled participants to consider how they may put their new found skills into practice

Year 9 student: “The course has helped me with my communication skills & to be more confident & brave”
