Tackling inequalities through physical activity and sport

We know that the majority of the population aren’t active enough for their health but we also know that not everyone has the same opportunities to be active.

Evidence tells us that social factors, including education, employment status, income level, gender and ethnicity have an influence on how healthy a person is. These unfair differences in people’s health between specific population groups are called health inequalities. Determined by circumstances largely beyond an individual’s control, these inequalities disadvantage people and limit their chance to live longer, healthier lives.

This forum focused on the inequalities that affect whether residents across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes are active or not and what can be done to improve access and opportunity to physical activity and sport.
