What is the Local Skills Accountability Board

The Buckinghamshire Local Skills Accountability Board (LSAB) brings together organisations, employers, and local partners to identify the employability and skills gaps within our local area and identify how; we as a board, can support people to join the workforce, ensuring they have the right skills, training and qualifications in place, to provide best practice to our service users. Connecting the dots between Health, Education, Sports, Physical Activity and Movement, this group of professionals have a shared vision to improve the wellbeing of others and provide more opportunity for growth and learning.

The LSAB encourages diversity and inclusion to ensure the communities we work in feel understood, heard, and accepted.

How the LSAB Supports Leap’s Vision

Together with CIMSPA, Leap manages the relationships on the Buckinghamshire Local Skills Accountability Board, by supporting our partners and board members to shape career pathways in sport, physical activity, movement, and leisure. We help ensure that training and education reflect the real needs of the sector, and we connect physical activity with health and care to support community wellbeing. By using data to guide decisions, we help tailor outcomes to meet the needs of Buckinghamshire’s diverse communities.

This partnership directly supports Leap’s vision to grow and inspire a skilled workforce that improves wellbeing through movement and sport. Together, we champion skills development, encourage collaboration across sectors, and support strategic investment in training and education. Our mission is to make career pathways more accessible, promote lifelong learning, and ensure the workforce reflects and serves the communities it supports.

2025/2026 LSAB Priorities

For 2025/2026, the Buckinghamshire Local Skills Accountability Board is focused on creating clear career pathways in the sport, physical activity, movement, and leisure sector. Making it easier for people to see how they can build a future in these fields. The board is also developing a flexible online system to help young people and job seekers access work experience opportunities. By strengthening links between health, education, and employers, LSAB aims to ensure training and education are better matched to real job needs. A key priority is making sure the future workforce reflects the diversity of Buckinghamshire’s communities, so that everyone has a fair chance to thrive.
