Exploring the Link Between Climate Action and Physical Activity Inequalities

At our February Partner Forum, we explored a powerful theme: how tackling climate change is essential to addressing inequalities in physical activity—and how our sector can lead the way in responding to environmental challenges.

We were thrilled to welcome around 60 passionate individuals from across physical activity, sport, health, leisure, community development, and beyond. The event buzzed with energy, starting with a creative ice breaker and continued with thought-provoking presentations and meaningful conversations.

Our expert speakers shared insights on how climate action can support healthier, more equitable communities.

A huge thank you to our guest speakers:

  • Andy Coley-Maud (Sport England)
  • David Gent (Active Humber)
  • Adam Howard (Active in the Community CIC, representing Active Partnerships)
  • Ian Sansbury (Mind Over Mountains)
  • Benjamin Feeney-North (Buckinghamshire Council, on the Buckinghamshire & St Peters Greenway)
  • Peter Elwin (Wendover Canal Trust)

What attendees said:

“Brilliant insight, initiatives, shared best practice and connections. Great alignment across the county—not only within the sector but beyond with those who are integral to the health of our communities. I left wiser than I was entering the room!”

“A brilliant morning, thank you so much for organising! Perfect balance of new information learned and interesting conversations with the various partners. Look forward to the next one!”
