PE Conference 2025: Shaping positive experiences of PE and school sport for your pupils
The 2025 PE Conference was an inspiring day of movement, learning, and collaboration, bringing together educators, practitioners, and thought leaders to explore the evolving landscape of physical education.
The day kicked off with an energising Wake and Shake by Helen Battelley, setting the tone for a packed programme of practical sessions and meaningful discussions.
Keynote Highlights
We were honoured to welcome Kate Thornton-Bousfield, CEO of the Association for Physical Education (AfPE). Kate shared insights into the changing national PE landscape, including upcoming policy developments and the future co-design of school sport partnerships. Her message emphasised:
- The need for a comprehensive PE curriculum.
- Ensuring qualified PE teaching in every school.
- Equal access to high-quality PE for all children.
Kate reinforced AfPE’s pivotal role in supporting schools, shaping curriculum reform, and promoting safe practice and outdoor learning. Her call to action was clear:
“Don’t wait for reform, start shaping meaningful PE now.”
We were also inspired by Ella Beaumont, Paralympian and Personal Trainer, who delivered a powerful keynote on Inclusion and Representation in Sport. Ella’s story resonated deeply with delegates, reminding us of the importance of visibility and opportunity for all.
